Steve Edwards has such a massive voice it makes the partnership with Hollway and Eastwick immense.....Basement Jaxx & XPRESS2 all have Steves vocal on their tracks. You can hear why.
Miles Hollway and Elliot Eastwick are no strangers to the dance music industry and were inspired by the US house sounds supplied by then Hacienda jocks Graeme Park and Mike Pickering (they replaced them as Saturday night residents in '97), the two soon nurtured a style that was not only diverse in nature but lively in execution.
In '93, Miles and Elliot became residents of Hard Times, which allowed them to rub vinyl with the likes of Tony Humphries, David Morales, Danny Tenaglia and Louie Vega. Inspirational times indeed and alongside Hard Times promoter Peter Jenkinson & Ben Davis the seminal house label Paper Recordings was born, its first release, the now anthemic 'The Book' in '95 having now sold in excess of 20, 000 units world-wide. But it's also the production side of Miles & Elliot's creative sensibilities which has won them respect and recognition globally.
Having formed production outfit Salt City Orchestra alongside technical wizard Si Brad in '94, they have not only produced tracks such as the superb 'Downtime' ('96) and, of course, 'The Book', but they have lent their magic remix touch to The Beloved, The Sneaker Pimps, Moloko and Red Snapper amongst many other treasured moments on vinyl. But much like finishing off a tub of Chunky Monkey, all good things must eventually come to an end.
RESET was a whole new chapter of Miles Hollway and Elliot Eastwick career and what better way to do so than reform as exciting new project, RESET.
Along with their remixes of Mike Delgado's 'Byrdman's Revenge' currently getting people hot under the collar; ess & music for Freaks 2002 witnessed contributions from RESET that gave the fading British house scene the kick up the arse it's so desperately crying out for.
the Basement Jaxx and XPRESS2 have all had the vocal talents of Steve edwards on them. This is why.
