The New Aluminists are Timmy Stewart and Glenn McCartney and started their glittering career by DJing for David Holmes at his Exploding Plastic parties in around Belfast and began a residency at Holmes' post Sugar Sweet club, "shake ya brain", where they played records with DJs such as Andrew Weatherall and Darren Emmerson.
This also led to them messing about in Holmes' studio with a release of their first EP on his Exploding Plastic imprint.
Timmy then started the hugely successful Digital Boogie night which he set up with breaks and funk DJ Mark Bell with the aim to provide a decent night out once a month without the usual dead loud house and techno, but more of a fusion of good music from funk, jazz, hip hop, through to proper house and disco.
The club is now in it's third year and due to the hoards of screaming fans it has been moved to a fornightly slot.
Glenn from the group says his favourite colour is shocking pink and his fave film is either lassie or flipper, he just can't decide.
