Harlem Zip Code - Triad ep

HZC go King Fu with this tough house work out. the sort of track Bruce Lee would have trained to.

HZC completed their first single for paper, 125th street and after an extensive bout of holidaying, general shennanigans and presenting cookery programmes on daytime tv, the happy go lucky pair set to work on the super cool "vibrations ep".

This 12 featured the hugely popular and anthemic "I Feel Music' with the sublime vocals of Frank Floyd which became an Electric Chair classic overnight.

HZC also liked to experiment with all kinds of crazy beats, ideas and concepts as their album for paper shows, as well as a number of vocal tracks including the fantastic vocal talents of Corrina Joseph and Beverly T.

But before that this was realeased in September 2002 "Club Triad", a juicy stir fry of club funk jazz beat driven stomalong which features some rather tasty live work from a variety of musicians.

Good for kung fu dance routines at the disco.

Harlem Zip Code come from Dewsbury in darkest West Yorkshire.
Tony Free one of the founding members and has an enormous collection of northern soul classics and this certainly comes out in his music.

The techy side of the productions comes from Merlin (not the wizard) and he has given the 3 tracks on this EP a beaty oriental feel.

It is a beat fest and Club Triad the main track is the most meaty out the singles on this piece of wax.

Reviews:

I love the Bruce Lee / Honk Kong Fuey samples in this and the really make it a fun trip to the dancefloor with Mandarin Duck showing another funkier side of HZC.
Quality release - Tony Rossano

The culmination of martial samples and sclock drum programming this fires up the most tired of legs - Jon Marsh
