NZ resident and old friend of Paper, Dick Johnson kicks off his new label Neat Music with Maya Vanya vs. Magik Johnson’s Don’t Need No-One.
It’s forward thinking dance music for those who know, brought to you with Record Label Services and available in the shop NOW!
Leftside Wobble : The Chaos In The CBD is so deep and soulful. Pure nu skool funk flava’s.
Stevie Sole : Magik Johnson Mix DOPE
Kiko Navarro : I think is a good release for all those who like the broken beat and the sound of Bugz in the Attic.
Crispin Dior : I think the vocals sit best with Chaos in the CBD mix by a long way. This broken vibe certainly has a grip.
The Lovely Jonjo : Love love love the original. Amazing vocal bring on summer already.
Aldrin Zouk : Fab slice of primal groove! Instrumental is a perfect addition.
Danny Mac : Rob 3’s mix is the one for me. Dark and moody, love the percussion. In the box for the weekend!
Karoshi : Digging the label ethos and the MJ remix is sweet.
Stuart Patterson : Nice set of varied mixes but good to have some proper variations in there .
Nathan Detroit : Love Dick!! Nice work & original for me.
Murray Richardson : Brilliant, love this 1st release from Neat – solid as you like!
It’s pretty hard to take seriously a recording credited to Crazy Penis but, in fact, the group’s A Nice Hot Edit With … is seriously good. The band’s A Nice Hot Bath With … appeared in 1999, so it’s no great surprise to hear the 2010 re-work sound so deliciously old-school; in short, if you’re a fan of Yore’s deep, neo-classic sound and the idea of a vocal-less Chic likewise strikes your fancy, you’ll likely cotton to A Nice Hot Edit With just as much.

‘A Nice Hot Edit With – Sampler 3’
The third and final sampler from Crazy Penis’ ‘A Nice Hot Edit with’ album.
Crazy Penis’ debut album ‘A Nice Hot Bath With’ was one of the long players of 1999 and still holds a special place in many people’s memory, now in 2010 Paper have decided to hand over the tracks from this album to some of their favourite producers out there and as such have created the marvellous ‘A Nice Hot Edit with’.
For the final instalment Crazy P step up themselves to remix the excellent ‘Do it Good’, making the most of the fact that they manage to salvage the original parts by creating a brilliant disco fuelled, breakbeat driven anthem. Funk laden bass and tinkling Rhodes piano keys intertwine with tight guitar licks to form the basis for this superb re-invention of one of their favourite cuts.
On the flip the respected production duo Yam Who? take the reins and turn in a sublime edit of ‘Omega Man’ , taking the soulful funk of the original and twisting it into a nu-disco classic to keep the winter fires burning bright.
Crispin Dior : Yam Who daddy all the way here. love the balance between kick and snare.
Sebastian Döring : Wicked sampler! Yam Who’s mix is my choice!
Matthew Kryskot : I thought they no longer had a Penis?… will play Do It Go for sure.
Ryan Cavanagh (Wolf + Lamb) : Lovin both sides! Super Funk!
James Teej : Very cool package, loved this series
Chris Duckenfield : Probably my favourite one yet !
The Revenge : You can’t knock ‘The P’ … 21st century slap and tickle. Nice.
Disco Bloodbath : Loving Omega man….deepness! Delay central
Eric Duncan (Rub N Tug) : Sounds good
Jay Tripwire : This is awesome..just fucking awesome.
Jimpster : Both tracks are great but will get most plays out of Omega Man i reckon.
6th Borough Project : Liking both disco fuelled edits.
Yannick Labbé : Yam Who Edit all the way! great work! Love it!
Pete Herbert : Yes indeed some hot edit actione! very handy, will be dropping these for sure….
Faze Action : Nice work can use both of these full support from The Faze camp
DiskJokke : Love the Yam Who edit, flows beautifully
Ashley Beedle : A nice couple indeed. The Yam Who comes out on top but will be definitely playing both tunes.
