Proviant Audio – Take Me Back To When I Wish I Was Born

1 Take Me Back (Proviant Audio’s Next Level Disco Mix)

2 Take Me Back (Brennan Green Mix)

3 Take Me Back (Atella’s Loveboat Mix)

4 All This Time (Daco Mix)

Take Me Back To When I Wish I Was Born is the 3rd single from album ‘Real Love Tastes Like this!’ by Proviant Audio AKA Mathias Stubø. When we asked him to re-edit the original he went away and did a whole new remix, exchanging the Latin vibes for more choppy disco elements.

Brooklyn based Brennan Green, who has previously released on DFA, Balihu and his own Chinatown imprint is up next with a stripped down, hypnotic Latin disco jam that sticks closely to the original.

Next up is the winner of the Paper remix competition winner from earlier this year, Atella. The fellow Norwegians deliver a remix which wonks out the original parts to create a 4/4 take that drops and filters for maximum floor action.

Finally, Paper stable member Daco is back with a cool mid tempo mix of All This Time reminiscent of early 80’s NY proto house releases. It is deep, soulful and oozing with quality, reframing the vocals from the energetic original in to a heavy vibing beauty.

FLASH ATKINS – THE IN CROWD / FLASH’S THEME

Proviant Audio – Hey Lets Do It! by Paper Recordings

Flash Atkins – Flash’s Theme by Flash Atkins

We Are Woodville and Paper Recordings’ very own loser super hero Flash Atkins returns to centre stage with another genre-busting EP on We Are Woodville and two brand new cuts that delve deep into the realms of nu disco.

The In Crowd is a chunky and chugging groove laden number based round a hefty Roxy Music sample. It’s got some heavy synths, a big break and is a perfect peaktime roof raiser!

Flash’s Theme is a laid back and jazz infused disco affair. Ronny Jordan inspired guitar lines jam over a warm bed of live drums, full bass and keys to deliver a simply infectious and timeless record.

BUY IT IN OUR SHOP and at all the download stores.

Jazzanova – Nice 12″, The In Crowd gets my support.

Chris Duckenfield : Flash’s Theme sounds like E-Lustrious remixing D-Train in the Arndale Centre.

Rob Mello – Flash’s Theme sounds great!

Billy Scurry – Blinding release, quite hard to chose a fav butboth killer tracks… Flash is in well funky mode!!

Diskjokke – Like The In Crowd reminds me of some of those old guerilla tracks.

Rave-enka – Rett I Kroppen EP

Noway keep coming up with producers who offer something fresh and exciting in a world where rave by numbers is often the norm. The next one to look out for is De Fantastiske To’s Rave-enka who mixes up techno, house and disco into a unique arctic stew as this EP perfectly demonstrates.

Rett I Kroppen is an epic disco-tech number purpose built from the ground up for maximum dance floor damage. It’s all about the release and build of the horn and string heavy sample for a track that can cross genres and comes off like a Paperclip People for 2016.

Honningen is just perfect house music; using the raw ingredients of a groove that swings and sample it demonstrates why the best ideas are often the simplest. Add in an arp, some filtering, a dash of Detroit plus dynamics and you have something that sounds like a Scandinavian Moodymann track.

Rett I Fletta brings in a 90s Strictly vibe but keeps things stripped back. Garage drums and analogue bass drive it along before cutting to a pure NYC synth stab for a Sound Factory Bar kind of joint.

Finally, the man who can, Richard Seaborne takes Honningen and beefs things up. With added vocal samples there is no way this can miss and he takes it back to a similar place as his Todd Terje and Tensnake rocking Is This Acid? Expect similar results.

Rave-enka is busy in his bunker recording us an album so expect more block rockers in 2016.

Mark Farina – “Dig these”

Justin Robertson – Great release”

Sleazy McQueen – “Too far gone, Norway back”

Harri (Sub CLub) – “Liking a few of these, full support”
