To celebrate 30 years of Paper, and in partnership with local label Sprechen, we are bringing Lindstrøm – one of the pioneers of Norwegian dance music, to Aviva Studios for a cosmic live performance of ‘The Little Drummer Boy’.
The song, first performed by Ray Conniff in 1962, has since been performed by artists as diverse as Frank Sinatra, Boney M, Joan Jett, Justin Bieber, Busta Rhymes, Ringo Starr and, of course, the timeless rendition by Bing Crosby and David Bowie.
Voted one of the best Christmas songs of all time by The Guardian, Lindstrøm’s take on ‘The Little Drummer Boy’ features military-style drums from the award-winning drummer Martin Horntveth and ethereal vocals by the 50-piece Vålerenga Man Choir. The festive favourite is a mesmerising tattoo of drum machine loops, choral voices, hypnotic synths and space disco chords.
