Longtime Paper artist and Reykjavík resident Gauti Björnsson has been digging through his archives and has uncovered four absolute crackers from his retired B.G. Baarregaard alias. “Down and Under” delivers trippy main room deep house with driving beats and bass. “Feels Like,” featuring Simen Aasen, presents a heavy nu disco groove ideal for various settings, layered with captivating keys and vocals. The two parts of Eternal Affection change gear into downtempo territory. Part I brings to mind the era of Kruder & Dorfmeister’s K & D Sessions and the Thievery Corporation. Deep, dubby and trippy. Part II drops the tempo even further but increases the wonk. It’s the sound of the sun starting to come through the curtains after a big night out.

Sean Brosnan - Future Disco
"Sounds a bit like paper of 20 or more years ago"
Santiago Rionda - Picotropico

Nick Holder (DNH)

ABOUT lakeshouse
Lakeshouse are a Norwegian band from the same people behind BOKA. Jazz musicians, DJs and producers collaborate to create their unique take on various forms of underground dance music. Released exclusively on Paper Recordings and praised in both DJ Mag and Mixmag, their EPs “Firkanta”, “Tusen Takk” and Folkemusikk connect the dots between the UK club scene and Norwegian space disco. Deeper into 2025, we’ll be a stellar body of work from this Norwegian collective, their album will be a zesty fusion of genres, floating between disco, funk & soul, house, and many other influences as it progresses. April will see the release of the first single, “Ubegrensa Harmoni.” accompanied by heavyweight remix treatments from Flash Atkins & 2 Billion Beats, a Flash Beat remix, and, of course, a radio edit!
